ARMY GROUND FORCES BAND

To the Colors: Tribute to the Stars & Stripes
The concert will feature rousing, patriotic music fit for an audience of all ages.
The evening’s repertoire will include the Dudley Buck’s Festival Overture on the Star Spangled Banner, Fort McHenry Suite by Julie Giroux, Carolyn Bremer’s Early Light, Star in the Field of Blue by Paul Whear, and several pieces composed by “The King of March,” John Philip Sousa. As one of only three Army bands with a national touring mission, the Army Ground Forces Band has traveled throughout the United States, performing at local, regional and national events and holding master classes and clinics at high schools and colleges. The Army Ground Forces Band serves as an outreach asset for United States Army Forces Command, headquartered at Fort McPherson. The Soldiers assigned to the band have passed a highly selective audition and are among the finest musicians in the United States Army Band Program. The majority of the band's members have studied music at some of the finest universities and conservatories in the United States and abroad. |

Jack O'Lantern Contest
Kids and adults alike are invited to decorate or carve your best pumpkin design and enter our jack-o-lantern carving contest! Bewitching prizes will be awarded to the winners of the creepiest, funniest and most creative designs in the kids category (up to 12 years of age) and adults (13 years and older).
All pumpkins must have the following information attached to the bottom: Name, Address, Phone # and Age. We will begin accepting jack-o-lanterns at The Fred Box Office on Thursday, October 22 with a deadline of 5 pm on Friday, October 23.
The pumpkins will line the walkway leading down to The Fred and remain on display through Sunday, October 25th. They will be lit on the evening of October 24th in conjunction with the "Not So Frightful" Storytelling and Halloween Party. Judging will take place on Saturday morning and winners will be announced that afternoon at the event.
