Phillip first picked up the guitar at age 14. With encouragement from his family and friends, he auditioned for American Idol and at the age of 22 emerged as the show’s season 11 winner. His debut single “Home” marked the most successful song of any Idol winner and has been certified 5x platinum. Phillips‘ first full-length The World from the Side of the Moon album debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 and quickly went platinum. He released his 2nd full-length album Behind the Light in early 2014. With chart top hits such as “Gone, Gone, Gone” and “Raging Fire;” winning top awards from the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards and the release of his new album, Collateral, in January 2018, Phillips has positioned himself as an emerging artist that is destined for a long career.
Parachute took root in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the group honed its mix of pop/rock, funk, and contemporary blue-eyed soul. Their 2009 debut album Losing Sleep peaked at #40 on the Billboard charts. Parachute have toured alongside big acts such as Kelly Clarkson, Andy Grammer, The Script and Switchfoot. Parachute will open for Phillip Phillips and play hits such as “She is Love” and “Kiss Me Slowly”.
